School Curriculum

Our curriculum is approved by the Hawaii Department of Education. All of the Instructors have State massage licenses and certification. Upon completion of the 570 hour program the student will be qualified to take the Hawaii State Board Examination.


Windward Therapeutic is designed to prepare students for work as entry level Massage Therapists in any therapeutic capacity. Working together with medical doctors, chiropractors, and other alternative medicine practitioners, we are the only massage school that is located within a health center. During their apprenticeship, all students will assist our LMTs while they treat our injured clients. Graduates will enter the job market as highly attractive candidates for hire or possess the business and professional skills necessary to work for themselves.


Workshop Fee:
  • $3,500.  Tuition includes textbooks and handouts. ($500 Discount when tuition is paid in full at once.)
  • $100.00 deposit required to reserve your seat.
  • Fire Cupping & Korean Hand Acupressure Courses included in tuition price.
     

Course Description

Objectives
Educate students in the various techniques that the massage profession has to offer, such as:
  • Swedish
  • Deep Tissue
  • Lomi Lomi
  • Shiatsu
  • Pressure Point
  • Energy Healing
  • Reflexology
Educate students in the various industrial injury techniques, such as:
  • Sciatica
  • Whiplash
  • Headaches
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • TB clearance

Our Program

Healing Journey offers a 570 hour academic and apprenticeship program, which consists of:150 Classroom Hours
  • 50 hours of Anatomy, Structural Kinesiology, and Physiology
  • 100 hours of hands on and theory and demonstration of massage, which will include:
  1. The proper procedure in massage, concerning the protection of both the client and the massage therapist
  2. Record keeping
  3. Hygiene
  4. Theory
  5. Technique for specific conditions
  6. Contraindications
  7. Draping
  8. Assessment of the client’s condition and the general technique to be applied
420 Apprenticeship Hours
  • 70 hours of clinical operation, which will include:
  1. Sanitation: Application of department of health regulations, linen, towels-30 hrs.
  2. Office Procedures: Answer phone, taking appointments, client rapport-30 hrs.
  3. Record Keeping: Client records-10 hrs.
  • 40 hours of Advance techniques which will include:
  1. Observation of classroom instructors-20 hours.
  2. Consulting-20 hours
  • 310 hours of hands-on supervised massage with record keeping
